For a Greenlandic / Danish company as Arctic Import it is important to have competent and qualified staff who knows the Greenlandic culture and masters the language. Therefore, we were represented as the Greenland House in Aalborg held SEASHOW - a floating education and recruitment exhibition in Greenland, whose purpose is to promote education and strengthen cooperation between Greenland and Denmark within the commercial and cultural life.

The exhibition took place on board the ship Sarfaq Ittuk who visited the cities Ilulissat, Aasiaat, Sisimiut, Maniitsoq and Nuuk. In every town the ship was open to everyone interested in meeting the various exhibitors representing the North Jutland business life and educational institutions. Overall 2096 visited the ship in the 5 cities - almost 4% of the population; hence the event must be considered a great success.

- It is important for us to create a network between the company and prospective employees, says HR Manager Anja Andreassen and continues - We have many current and former employees with Greenlandic background and it is a huge advantage for us and our customers. Participation in this event was an opportunity to make contact with the students, who represent the future workforce.

Arctic Import has been represented in Greenland since 1978 when company founder Ole Nielsen and Poul Jørgen Nielsen started focusing on timber. Since then the company has evolved to have a very comprehensive product portfolio and is currently represented in Greenland through the sales office, showroom, shops and supermarkets in Nuuk, Ilulissat and Uummannaq - consequently there is also need for people in many different areas and an event SEASHOW is an obvious place to meet them.
